I thank God for giving me you. I thank the lucky stars for making our paths cross. I thank every encounter, every heart break, every lesson learnt, for making us grow together, through the bad times and through the good times. Our life together turned out to be magical. I knew, deep inside my heart, that you were the one I'm going to marry. Our friends thought so too. I can't believe it's been two months since we said our vows.
Since we said yes to forever.
A night before the big day, my bridesmaids surprised me back at the hotel by giving me 'dick' cupcakes to savor the last moments of singlehood. I was taken aback. I would like to thank these sweet, lovely girls (Chen, Czar, Starr, Cam, Kim, & Su) for being there for me on my most important day. They even prepared a photo of Channing Tatum and surrounded it with the cupcakes. I can still remember it like it was yesterday. I was always laughing more than holding back my tears (thankfully!).
The wedding dress arrived also a night before. My bridesmaids and I gazed at its beauty as we enjoyed munching on the cupcakes. My maid of honor kept telling me "Tomorrow's the day, huh?" I closed my eyes; one, in hopes of shutting down any nervousness and jitters, two, for thanking God.
I had a good night's sleep (well, who wouldn't since the room we booked was extra cozy). Mark, on the other hand, didn't. More like couldn't. He was nervous and excited at the same time. With his groomsmen, they played Overwatch until dawn of the seventeenth to calm his nerves. Since we followed the tradition of not seeing each other a day before our wedding, I didn't know what he was doing or feeling. Fortunately, he had friends to watch his back.
I was getting emotional on the day itself. Luckily, I kept distracting myself by joking around my bridesmaids and laughing together with them (see one scene from our wedding video here). I also kept telling them not to cry because it's going to be a domino effect. And we were wearing our make-up! Imagine the odds! I wish, somehow, to relive that day again. ♥ That day was beautiful.
