Hello, guys! How's it been? Oh, the keyboard feels so nostalgic. Here I am, back again. typing a post. It's good to be back. I really can't point out the reason for my long blogging break, but maybe, there are some circumstances in my life that had resulted the said hiatus.

My first shoot ( and cos shoot, ever) of the year! You know how I'm a fan of anime and its vast world, and a few weeks back, I was given the opportunity to shoot one of my favorite badass characters: Mikasa Ackerman from Shingeki No Kyojin.

I'm selling some stuff ( costumes, wigs, accessories, etc. mostly for cosplay) And also, my closet needs some emptying since there are still bigger events in the near future and bigger expenditures. *^*

Since my costumes need a new home~ I hope they get adopted by awesome parents.

{ An Art from the Heart}

I know it's been such a long time since my last post, but I hope everything's well with you guys. I've been busy with my studies because exams are coming up, but I've missed blogging so much that I just had to. *hits self*

And also, Blog.com has been experiencing connection problems and such.

For this blog, I am going to feature a friend of mine. He is very talented and skillfull that he can even manage to wield you a sword, an axe, a hat, a badass machine gun, and on top of that, he can give you love. Haha. Kidding aside.

He is no other than...

Kert-Jan Tabaña

" Slowly but surely" is this guy capable of and he can wield magic with his hands.

I've met Kert during one of our community's gatherings. He is master. Haha. >D

I get to grab the opportunity to ask him questions here and there regarding his skills as a propsmith and maybe, he has some points to share to the world. >D Now on with the interview.

1.) First off, tell me something about cosplay.

K: Cosplay, is what other good cosplayers always say, a performance art, a hobby, and a good way to meet good friends. Probably the best friends you could ever have! I actually see cosplay as an activity where I can get creative, become the character I like, and just have fun, the not so normal way! WELP! That fried a good number of nerves XD

2.) When and how did you discover your talent for props-making ?

K: It started way back actually, like when I was 8. If you had experienced those moments back in childhood, where you get to have sword fights with your friends; that was when I discovered I could make stuff they call today as PROPS. As far as I remember, I made approximately 8 bamboo blades for me and my friends! Haha. Now, enough with the reminiscing. I really knew I could do props making on my first cosplay, dated 2009. Since then, I started making wooden katanas and eventually moved to bigger prop commissions.

3.) How do you find props-making?

K: A big PAIN IN THE ASS! But the kind of pain I like. ( That seriously sounds wrong but yes, I'm masochistic)

4.) What was the most difficult commission you have ever encountered? And how long did it take for you to finish it?

K: Well, all my prop commissions take so damn long to finish. Haha! I'm actually experiencing it right now. I got a commission by a good friend/customer from Manila, Philippines (yes, I know I got that far). The request was made during November last 2012. Though, I already told him I can only work on it starting February of this year ( due to other commissions). Miraculously, he accepted the long wait. Since then (November 2012), I started researching about the whole prop, and thankfully was able to start during February. I'm almost done with it. Hehe. I will be finished before the end of MAY. You guys can do the math. What prop, you ask? It's just Cloud's Buster Sword, The First Tsurugi. Fully detachable, lightweight, and convention safe.

5.) Can you give me the three best props you've commissioned so far, the duration of the work, a little comment about it and a finished picture for each item.

K: a. Zillyhoo's Warhammer from Homestuck (The most vividly colored PROP ever made by me. When I was done with it, I shouted "GHEY". You know why XD) It took me 3 weeks.

b. Lelouch's Sword (Failing once means something. I actually had to make another one. The first attempt was of wrong measurements and all, so yeah. Think about repeating the same process over again? XD) It took me 6 weeks.

c. Yoh Asakura's Harusame (First ever wooden katana made to be disassembled! XD ) It took me 3 weeks.

6.) When you claimed to have " slow hands", please elaborate more.

K: Did I ever claim I had? XD Haha. I really did. So you've been stalking me. Hmmm XD Anyway, yes. I really have slow, 'veiny' and shaky hands. Literally. But whenever I say I have slow hands, I actually mean that I work in a pace where I think more, and do less. Getting the best quality on my prop commissions is my top priority. To be able to get that, I think, not just once, not just twice, but, more than I could ever think of. I don't rush until I'm told to do so.

7.) Yes, I admit. I am a stalker. Haha. Anyhoo, what props would you want to try making?

K: A LIFE SIZE HOT CHICK! Just kidding! I have always wanted to make Illidan's Twin Crescent Blades from Warcraft.

Also, A Dominator gun from the anime Psycho Pass. ( Coz' that bitch is one hell of a work and I absolutely love that gun.)

8.) If you were to cosplay one character and wield its prop, who would you do?

K: If it were from an anime, it would be Cho Sawagejo (this guy has a lot of katanas placed all over his body). A total bad-ass who really needs a decent screentime T_T

If it were from a film, I'd say Starship Trooper (very old film) but that was where I got all my anti-alien, guns, and babes inspiration.

9.) What message would you give to propsmith beginners out there?

K: Keep making! You will never get better if you just sit there and watch porn, play online games, watch anime everyday. Hmm. Well I do those stuff too but ever since I started propsmaking, those things should take a little of my time. Also, if you don't feel like making a prop, don't do it. Forcing yourself to work is just bad. Though I'm talking as an artist, but that is an application that could be done to life too.

10.) What are your strengths and weaknesses as a propsmith?

K: I take so fudging long in making props! But I have the quality to cover up the long wait.

11.) What characteristics should a propsmith toward propsmaking must have?

K: Patience, endurance, and BAGS or even TRUCKS load of Creativity. Accuracy and other technical characteristics will fall after.

12.) What message can you tell the world more of propsmaking?

K: Replica props making is not as easy as it sounds. It never is. But here we are, bravely facing the challenges head on. It's one of those few things in life you'd want to do to leave a mark. Either for the community or just for the people you care about. We make Real Art from the Heart. And yeahhhhhhhhh with our own hands too! XD

13.) That's a given. Do you accept International commissions?

I actually could. But I'll have to ask around regarding shipping and such XD

{ What time is it? }

IT'S ADVENTURE TIME!

Yey! Haha. Okay. So that escalated quickly. And yes, that is what we cosplayed. C:

So much for so much! Haha.

Actually, Fubu and I were having a super hard time on what to put on our skin ( as you can see, both Marceline and Marshal Lee have gray skin tone). Cebu doesn't at all sell Snazaroo body paints and they only sell face paints. (n hfhwafasfpjsa)

Anyhoo, we were looking for this.

But the only thing we found in the malls and any other places out there are face paints. Assorted face paints.

So all we did was to improvise.

We first started out with face paint ( I bought two packs of black and white) and started mixing and placing it on our arms. I had Fubu experimented. Haha.

All in all the outcome was kind of dirty (like sewers dirty eeww), so we improvised again. ( and of course we asked from the experts).

The experts told us to mix BB Cream and Grey eye shadow as an alternative. And that made me think " Where the hell am I going to get loads and loads of eyeshadow?"

We tried once again. Personally, I think it's quite time consuming and "eyeshadow-and-cream" consuming, so I recommend using it as a last resort.

Now what we actually did was to combine the two options. It somehow worked. We placed white face paint first on our skin, and then rubbed some grey eyeshadow. :DD

This is me before the dirty session started. And no, that is not my belly button down there. Haha.

And tadaaaaa~

It took us about 1-2 hours.

We arrived late at the event, putting our minds with the " No regrets" concept all over again and again. ( It's a long story).

After the event, we headed down to SM to finish some errands and then off to SongHits. ♥

{ Trucy Wright }

Since I had work on the 16th ... It is obvious I arrived late at the event.

And I know all of you have been wondering who and what the heck was I cosplaying, so now I'm going to give you guys full details in this blog.

I cosplayed as Trucy Wright from the game: Ace Attorney.

Trucy Wright is Apollo Justice's "sidekick" and Phoenix Wright's adopted daughter. She is a professional stage magician born into the Gramarye family of magicians, her biological father being Zak Gramarye and her grandfather being Magnifi Gramarye. As such, her original name is Trucy Enigmar.

Well, Trucy Wright was one of my "dying-to-cosplay" characters. Since the theme of this year's OF was " A History of Magic", it gave me the opportunity to ask myself "Why not?"

So TADAAAAAA. Haha.

After work, I went straight to UP grounds just to be there and let not our efforts go to waste. I was helped by fellow hand-smiths Kumako Ryuujin & Kimberly Cabaral Lavarez for their ever-so-magical hands of justice. (ignore me.) and my ever so loving behbeh Johara Kris Veloso for the hat ( her father made it) and for dying with me in a battle against Greco. *curse you Greco*

I was glad to see my friends there. It made me shed a tear. ;_; ooooh, how i miss them.

After the cosplaying and the cramming and the shizzing, I went out to have a postcos celebration, and of course, with these people.

Was chilling in a small cafe called " Bistro Ecila " and their bands were superb. It is located in Ayala, Terraces just beside Casa Vede. You can get an ambiance of a chillax environment and everything was so.... what's the word... uhm... chill. Hahaha

And I had the guts to destroy the ambiance of the cafe' by singing a duet with Bryan (honeybooo :"> ). Hahaha. I am so violent.

{ OtakuFest: A History of Magic }

Well, since there was a long cosplay-event-hiatus ( definitely a long one *^* ) since the last cosplay convention, people had more time to prepare for the first event for the year 2013.

3 months of silence to be exact. The last cosplay event was on the month of October. November, December and January are the following months that made people look forward to this event. And now, a grand comeback.

And that would be...

OtakuFest 2013

It will be held in the grounds of the University of Philippines, Lahug, Cebu City.

From 11 am to 8 pm.

All in all: An Otaku's dream come true.

The theme is:

A History of Magic

So basically, people will be in mage costumes and the like. And all will be Japan-based. (´∇ﾉ｀*)ノ YEY!

And this will be the teaser for tomorrow's event.

{ my inspirations }

I have to be confident in any way that I can be. I am not weak. And also I may not be strong. But when it comes to having these so-called trials, let me have 'em. I'll rip them up for good.

Now, you may be wondering why I gave this blog the title of " My Inspirations". I am proud to announce these people to be my motivation when it comes to girl power and having a life as a girl.

I know we girls, have a lot of issues when it comes to make-up, dresses, family, friends, nice things (esp. cute ones :"3), and of course, not to mention, BOYS.

Haha. Kidding aside. Now on to the list of girls I love and I continue to admire. <3

1.) CAMILLE CO

The way she picks out patterns and colors and how she matches with different styles of fashion is what I love from this girl. Her creativity is unique. And also, she entertains and replies to questions and comments. She started out as a blogger on the month of April 2011. Look how far she has gone through the past two years. ♥

4.) MILES SEMBLANTE

Miles is someone I admire from afar. She is a cosplayer slash model. She is extremely-gives-you-a-nosebleed type of girl. I love how she can be perky and jolly and has this radiant aura. I admire her moe. ♥ She has such beautiful eyes and that smile, GAH! Don't let me get started on that smile.

Reika is a Japanese cosplayer. And yes, she is a WOMAN. I love how she can be sooooooooo... HAWT. （￣ ¨ヽ￣）*nosebleeds* I love how she magically transforms into someone so magical. She is my inspiration when it comes to becoming someone you truly want to be.

Labs is a nursing graduate from St. Paul's College. She passed the board exam last 2011. She loves to draw and do artsy stuff. { 2013 Wishlist }

2013 WISHLIST:

1* Will cosplay more

- I've realized that I've been skipping cosplay events here and there because either I'm too busy working or I didn't have the moolah for it. (´∩｀。)

~~2* DSLR~~

- I know this behbeh is like one of my greatest dreams everrrrr since the year 2011. I just want to appreciate the sceneries around me and catch its breath-taking view in a photograph.

3* more photoshoots

- I didn't get to do photoshoots lately. Same reason as what I gave in number 1. And my photographer friends also have their own agendas. (´Д｀。) UPDATE: ( P.S. Finally will have a photoshoot tomorrow after a long hiatus. My first for 2013 ;> *winks* )

~~4* will have more adventures with friends ♥~~

- I've been neglecting my friends for more than one year now. From the month of April 2011 to July 2012. I'm going to make up the lost time I have with them. They have been there for me through my thicks and thins, now it's my turn. (*≧▽≦)

5* will look the best everyday

- People are telling me to lose my previous wardrobe and wear something daring. DARING: like wearing dresses and brag about them legs. Haha. They told me to show more of my skin. I .WILL .TRY. Haha.

~~6* will collect more frogs~~

- My collection of frogs is not enough. I have to collect more and more frogs. Those cute little things - I NEED. ♥ Why am I born this way!? But hey, that doesn't stop me from collecting more this year. ♥♥♥

~~7* Iphone~~

- Haha. I know this seems impossible but nothing's impossible without you trying it. So yeah, I am aiming for this baby.

~~8* Instagram and the wonders of 3G~~

- So yeah. One of the main reasons why I am craving for an Iphone is Instagram. Haha. I know it's soooooooooo stupid, but I'm a girl, and I have my wants. Haha.

9* will do more art

- was too busy working and didn't have the time to draw more of my mangas. I need to do artsy stuff once again. Otherwise, my drawing skills will *poooooof* if you get what I mean. >///< I wouldn't like that to happen.

10* will practice playing my bass guitar and have more gigs with my band

- Since I am in love with my bass guitar and I love performing songs as a bassist, I decided to put this in my list. I want to enhance my skills of playing the bass guitar with my band. And to do more gigs is one of the ways to enhance it.

11* be more responsible of myself and independent

- Mom is telling me that I'm not responsible enough to do this and that. I'm going to prove her wrong. - I hope - Haha. And being independent is one way to be more responsible of yourself.

12* will spend money every other day

- Since I want this and that, Haha. I will TRY to save more and spend less. This I have to endure. And insert the word "diet" here.

13* will expand my circle of friends

- Since I am welcoming the year 2013 with good vibes, I also have to welcome new people in my life. I have decided to expand my circle of friends. As they always say, the more the merrier.

14* will blog about useful things

- I'm going to blog about food, restaurants, places, experiences, any hows and any whats, and all the et ceteras in the world. This wouldn't only be about ME anymore.

15* will officially study the Japanese language

- Since I am surrounded by my beloved beloved Japan-related work, it makes teaching easier. I am officially going to enroll in a Japanese language school to learn more about the grammar and the different phonetics. And especially their writings. (;*△*;)

16* will lose some extra pounds

- I know losing some weight is impossible for a sickly girl like me but I have to surpass the limits of my condition. And this is a must for me. Whew. Gotta lay down on the carbs.

17 * WILL PLAY MOAAAARRRR GAMESSSSS ♥

- I'd rather waste my time and money to games. Fatal Frame was the first game that I was so into. And the second one is Assassin's Creed. I wonder what unlucky game out there would be my next target. Kufufufufu~ >:D

18 * will discover more awesome songs with awesome messages

- I know I'm a music girl. And I'm not into disco songs or so whatever, I'm into songs that brings out a certain message. For example, Better than Me by Hinder, or More than This by OneDand Wedding Dress by Teayang and so on and so forth. Since 2013 is a new year, I'm sure there are bound to be awesome songs to be made. And I can't wait to meet em'. Listen, rather.

~~19* will travel to different places in the Philippines with friends~~

- My friends and I are planning to go out this summer for our team building. Haha. And out, I mean OUT. Boracay, Bohol, Ilo-ilo, Cagayan and et cetera et cetera. Most of my friends are going to bring their hubbies with them. And I'm going to bring out Forever Alone Meme with me as a date.

~~20* will TRY to wear a bikini this summer Hahah~~

- Don't laugh. Don't smile. This is also a dream I am trying to accomplish. Thus, number 16. （￣へ￣）

21* will meet someone *winks* ♥ ( cheesy alert)

- People come and go. Year 2012 was a year of suffering for me. Shed too many tears, lost people and the most difficult thing to do was to slowly close the book. I am sure that, since I am welcoming 2013 with good vibes, I'm sure good vibes will come. And I am also sure I am going to meet that certain someone this year. ♥
